October 25, New Delhi:

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that India is on track to achieve self-reliance in mobile manufacturing

The minister stated that within two years, complete domestic production of mobile phone components will be carried out in the country. He also noted that chipsets for various applications, including CCTV systems, are being developed indigenously.

Vaishnaw announced that the government will invest over ₹200 crore to develop energy-efficient microprocessors for high-performance computing, including servers.

He further informed that over 12 lakh central government employees have been onboarded onto Zoho’s indigenous digital suite, enhancing digital governance. Additionally, a fact-checking chatbot is under development to verify the authenticity of videos and online content, aimed at curbing misinformation.
