IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says India will be self-reliant in mobile manufacturing within two years; announces ₹200 crore push for energy-efficient chips.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that India is on track to achieve self-reliance in mobile manufacturing
The minister stated that within two years,
complete domestic production of mobile phone components will be carried out in
the country. He also noted that chipsets for various applications, including
CCTV systems, are being developed indigenously.
He further informed that over 12 lakh central
government employees have been onboarded onto Zoho’s indigenous digital suite,
enhancing digital governance. Additionally, a fact-checking chatbot is under
development to verify the authenticity of videos and online content, aimed at
curbing misinformation.
